We are currently hiring full-time Operators to work out of our Marion, IA location. Position consists of general heavy equipment operation for construction. Digging or trenching equipment operators can operate a variety of equipment, used in installation/repair/maintenance activities associated with underground utilities, in a safe and effective manner.less than/span>less than/p>less thanp>less thanstrong>less thanspan>Responsibilities:less than/span>less than/strong>less than/p>less thanul>less thanli>Safely operates trenching or digging equipment on jobsite which may include but not limited to the following: Plow, Chain Trencher, Backhoe/Excavator, Rock Saw, Dozer/Lead Tractor, Tractor Trailer (Moving Equipment/Haul Water)less than/li>less thanli>Restores and/or landscapes disturbed areas of the jobsiteless than/li>less thanli>Dig pits, trenches or potholes as directed by job plan including windows when crossing utilitiesless than/li>less thanli>Responsible for the site set-up and clean-upless than/li>less thanli>Load and unload tools, materials and equipment on truckless than/li>less thanli>Will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis JSA prior to starting constructionless than/li>less thanli>Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and at times flagging trafficless than/li>less than/ul>less thanp>less thanstrong>less thanspan>Qualifications:less than/span>less than/strong>less than/p>less thanul>less thanli>Must be experienced with Digging/trenching equipment and understand their capabilities and limitationsless than/li>less thanli>less thanspan>Ability to follow instructionsless than/span>less than/li>less thanli>Basic ability to use small tools/hand tools.less than/li>less thanli>Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules and operating instructionsless than/li>less thanli>Must have a valid Drivers License with an acceptable driving recordless than/li>less thanli>Must be able to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilitiesless than/li>less thanli>Must have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsless than/li>less thanli>Must be very safety conscientiousless than/li>less thanli>Must be able to effectively communicate with crew, customers and vendorsless than/li>less thanli>less thanspan>May be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as needed to ensure work is completedless than/span>less than/li>less thanli>less thanspan>Travel may be requiredless than/span>less than/li>less than/ul>less thanp>less thanstrong>less thanspan>Preferred Qualifications:less than/span>less than/strong>less than/p>less thanul>less thanli>less thanp>less thanspan>Valid Class A Commercial Driver's license with tanker endorsementless than/span>less than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanp>less thanspan>Previous construction experience or utility construction experiencedless than/span>less than/p>less than/li>less thanli>less thanspan>less thanspan>Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilitiesless than/span>less than/span>less than/li>less than/ul>less thanp>less thanstrong>less
