Job Description
The Second Judicial District has an immediate opening for a Juvenile Court Specialist to perform a wide variety of clerical, customer service and data entry functions. The domicile for this position is Marshalltown. Salary range $35,776.00 - $52,499.20, starting pay based upon education and relevant experience.
*Starting July 1, 2024, the new pay grade range for Juvenile Court Specialist 1 is $36,857.60 - $56,908.80.

Responsibilities:
Extensive data entry and word processing duties.
Responds to visitors and answers the telephone.
Records and updates information in Case Management.
Follows appropriate processes for use of the Electronic Data Management System (EDMS).
Prepares or drafts correspondence or other related documents.
Assists JCO in gathering information.
Maintains statistical information and prepares standard reports.
This is a non-merit positionwith the Iowa Judicial Branch. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.
Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from high school (or equivalency) and one year of work experience are required to meet the qualifications for the position. At the discretion of the hiring supervisor, additional years of education (Associate or Bachelor Degree) may be substituted for experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours, or academic equivalent, equals one year of experience.
