Mason City Community School District Administrative Assistant / FMLA and Leave Coordinator in Mason City, Iowa

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - FMLA and LEAVE COORDINATOR

This is a 10-month, district-level position primarily responsible for tracking leave taken under the federal Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and associated support, tracking unpaid leaves of absence, and coordinating sick leave donations for catastrophic health conditions. Since the position is based at Jefferson Elementary, general building secretary duties are performed most often at the start and end of the day.

  • Start at $19.88 / hour
  • 10-month position starting 8/1/24 (8-hr days), based at Jefferson Elementary
  • Minimum of high school diploma; preference given to applicants with an AA/BA in Business, Human Resources, Benefits Management, or similar field.
  • One year of administrative assistant experience required; 2 or more years' applicable experience in Human Resources and/or employee benefits preferred.
  • Proficiency in business-related technology (word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, web pages, internet, etc.)
  • Knowledge of general office equipment (copiers, FAX, etc.)
  • Includes district-paid single health insurance
