Student Housing Food Service Worker/Cook (PSS/8)

Monday - Friday with occasional weekends

Start Date: ASAP

Basic Function: This position is responsible for preparing and/or cooking food items while providing customer service and adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures.

Salary and Benefits: Hourly wage for this position is $13.50. Retirement benefits as provided by Social Security and IPERS or TIAA.

Prepares and builds food items in large quantities according to standardized recipes and directions.Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.Sets up work stations including prep tables, service counters, steam tables, etc.Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes work stations.Serves food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating the customers' needs.Replenishes food items and ensure product is stocked to appropriate levels.Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards students, customers, coworkers, etc.Clean and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, utensils, and equipment; collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers as appropriate in the area of operation.Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.NIACC Core Principles: All employees are expected to adhere to all NIACC policies and procedures. Qualifications: Previous food service experience preferred. Must be able to obtain food safety certification. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 pounds.
