Trinity Health Team Lead - Environmental Services - Full Time - Evenings in Mason City, Iowa

Description:

Position Purpose:

Leads Environmental Services Techs of assigned area by demonstrating and providing advanced knowledge of job responsibilities while providing a clean and safe environment for staff, visitors, and patients within the hospital. Enhances the appearance of the facility by maintaining a consistent floor care program.

What you will Do:

-Demonstrates ability to make decisions and solve problems when requested to do so (i.e. supervise in supervisor's absence because of illness, vacations, emergencies, and weekend coverage)

-Assists in Quality Control checks as requested - maintains minimum standards.

-Assists supervisor with directing and assigning staff as needed.

-Orients, trains and re-trains employees as directed by supervisor.

-Competently performs the duties of EVS Tech I and II.

-Assist the supervisor with the work schedule and task assignments.

-Assist the supervisor with annual evaluations and corrective actions where appropriate.

-Perform the duties of the EVS Tech III when scheduled.

Hours/Schedule:

Full Time - 40 hours per week - Primarily 3:15pm to 11:45pm - Weekend/Holiday Rotation

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required

  2. Two years of relevant EVS and/or leadership experience required.

Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes

  1. Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to patient, visitor, and other staff.

  2. Convey an attitude of acceptance, sensitivity, and caring to patient, visitor, and staff.

  3. Maintain professional relationships and convey relevant information to other members of the health care team within facility.

  4. Initiate communication with peers about priorities for tasks to be done.

  5. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate by telephone in English.

  6. Basic computer skills required: e-mail (communicate – send and receive), mandatory education (e-learning), review schedules, policies and procedures, employee engagement surveys, etc.

  7. Must be able to maintain knowledge of chemicals used for cleaning and disinfecting (on-the-job training provided).

  8. Demonstrates compliance with hospital and department safety policies and procedures.

  9. With use of personal protective equipment, must be able to work around blood borne pathogens; blood and body fluids.

  10. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

  11. Must be self-motivated.
