Mason City Community School District Vocal Music Accompanist - Mason City High School in Mason City, Iowa
VOCAL MUSIC ACCOMPANIST
Accompanies choral groups during rehearsals, at concerts, special events (All-State and Follies), and competitions (solo/ensemble, large group, Chicago/NYC). Practices assigned music prior to rehearsal and performances (e.g. correct tempos, challenges, transitions, dynamics) to ensure efficient use of rehearsal time with students.
- Mason City High School
- Ability to play accompaniments on one or more musical instrument: piano, organ, harpsichord, or electronic keyboard in rehearsal and performance for musical groups and soloists
- Ability to follow a conductor and/or soloist
- Knowledge of and ability to play classical, semi-classical, and modern music
- Ability to sight read musical selections, play from open score, and transpose simple musical arrangements
- Knowledge of basic musical theory, including harmony, and notation.
- $25 / hour - not to exceed 800 contract hours
