Job Description

HUMAN RESOURCES TECHNICAL ASSISTANT

Payroll Management-process functionsof payroll for each pay period.

Personnel Records Management-process all required personnel action documents accurately and timely.

Maintain official personnel files for all employees.

Assist in the employee selection process-hiring justifications, pdq and other applicable documents, schedule interviews, background checks and reference checks.

Assist Supervisors and Executive Team on all personnel matters needed-provide information from personnel and timekeeping records for investigation, meeting discussions as requested. Assist with management of FMLA and Workers Compensation programs-serve as a liaison for Newton Correctional Facility and other outside agencies.

Assist HRA duties in their absence.

Assist employees with completion of personnel documents and questions regarding pay, benefits, etc.

Attend all required training Experience in Benefits and Payroll are preferred

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

  • Two years of full-time work experience performing administrative support work.

  • A total of two years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where 30 semester hours of accredited post-high school course work equals one year of full-time experience.

  • Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to one year of full-time administrative support work in a human resources-related program area.
