JOB SUMMARY: Cleans and maintains assigned County buildings and assures all necessary custodial tasks are completed on a daily basis and in a timely manner.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Cleans bathrooms including scrubbing and cleaning urinals, toilets, mopping the floor, emptying the trash, wiping the mirrors and cleaning the sinks; replaces all paper products including soap, toilet paper and hand towel as necessary.Empties the trash, vacuums the floor and cleans all rooms and facilities; sweeps and mops floors; shampoos carpets; strips and waxes floors; cleans ash trays.Dusts and cleans window ledges, furniture, hallways, elevators, stairs, closets, shelves and storage areas; washes walls, windows and furniture; polishes desks and railings as necessary.Replaces all light bulbs and fluorescent tubes; reports any unusual circumstances to supervisor.Notifies supervisor of any stock that is low; receives, unloads and stores supplies.Maintains grounds; mows grass; trims hedges; pulls weeds; shovels snow; may spread insecticide.Touches up paint after repairs or damage; hangs pictures.Performs minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry work without close supervision.Assists in window washing and replacing blinds.Exercises initiative, or as directed, performs additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
