We are seeking safety minded individuals who are well qualified in the field of heavy diesel equipment maintenance, have excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in small groups or individually. As a member of the team, you must be able, at a minimum, to communicate clearly, have strong organizational skills, perform basic troubleshooting and repairs on heavy and light mobile equipment, perform your duties safely and efficiently, maintain a safe and clean work area, and possess the basic hand tools for the job. In addition to these general maintenance and lubrication skills and experience, the correct candidates will also excel in several or all of the following skills.
*Mobile Equipment Mechanic: *
Diagnoses and repairs defective mobile equipment and mechanical/hydraulic equipment using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring and testing equipment.
Troubleshoots, repairs, installs and services compressors and other process equipment.
Performs inspection, installation and alignment of equipment and problem solves equipment failures.
Proficient knowledge of Environmental practices eliminating unsafe conditions.
Thorough knowledge of the company’s safety policies, Process Code System and Internal Combustion System.
Repairs/replaces and fabricates parts for wear items as required.
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment using knowledge of vibration analysis, oil analysis and thermography.
Safely uses hand tools, power tools, calibration and measuring tools to complete job tasks.
Reads machine drawings, blueprints, pipe diagrams and flow sheets.
Lubricates and cleans parts.
Performs welding repairs as needed using arc, wire, tig and gas welds.
Uses cutting torches to cut and layout basic designs.
Performs accurate and timely data entry on all services performed.
Performs in depth skills- wire rope applications and reaving.
Uses and repairs overhead crane and lifting apparatus.
Initiates purchase orders for parts.
Follows all safety rules and policies, immediately reporting any accident/incident, and assists in generating solutions to resolve issues.
Assists in training of co-workers as needed.
Assists with general clean-up of work area.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Maintenance Technician :
Performs all Mobile Equipment Mechanic duties.
Enters Work Orders and Purchase Requisitions into company software.
Trains employees on advanced diagnosis and repair of equipment and safe forklift operation/inspection.
Updates MSDS using business practices and procedures.
Keeps track of tools that are supplied.
Assists Material Handling Manager in giving knowledgeable and pertinent information and advice when negotiating for replacement or purchasing new equipment.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Vision: Normal correctable vision and ability to distinguish color.
Personal Protective Equipment :
Required: Hard hat, metatarsal steel toe boots, safety glasses, fire retardant uniform, and gloves. Full body safety harness required for tasks performed at heights 4 feet and above.
Recommend: Hearing protection
Requirements/Skills:
High school degree or equivalent.
Read, write and communicate in English.
Proficient in personal computer
People leadership skills and ability to lead by example. Implements and promotes company policies.
Ability to perform well in a “TEAM” environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects.
Lift objects of various dimensions and weights.
Ability to operate hand controls with both hands.
Ability to perform work while lying on the back.
Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching on occasional basis.
Ability to operate various size hand tools.
Ability to tolerate working in cramped quarters and at heights.
Ability to tolerate swing shift work schedule.
Ability to work with greases and oils used to maintain equipment.
Ability to tolerate work in all out-door environmental conditions.
Ability to work in high noise areas where noise levels can reach 120 decibels.
Ability to work in extreme temperatures from 0° F to 120° F.
