2nd Shift,6:00PM to 6:00AM, 3/2/2 ScheduleStarting Pay:$27.65 to $30.00, +$0.60 Shift Differential($1,000 Sign-On Bonus ($500 When Hired, $500 After 60 Days of Employment))The primary role of the Refrigeration/Boiler Operatoris to continuously improve the reliability, efficiency, and utilization of plant utility systems and equipment. This is accomplished by utilizing mechanical and electrical expertise in the operation and precise installation, maintenance, and repair of plant utility systems and equipment followed by concise and accurate documentation of all activities and observations. Knows and follows HACCP program and principles, USDA guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices.RESPONSIBILITIES:All team member's must abide by all of Burke's Plant Safety Rules!The Refrigeration/Boiler Operatorworks closely with all plant personnel to support improved utility system and equipment reliability as well as efficient and cost-effective use of plant resources.Apply maintenance skills and knowledge to install, operate, maintain, and repair plant utility systems and equipment. (40%)Monitor and record system performance and make adjustments to assure the safe and efficient operation of plant utility systems and equipment. (15%)Initiate and perform condition monitoring tasks including preventive and predictive maintenance. (15%)Troubleshoot equipment failures to ascertain possible failure modes and participate with operations, plant engineering, suppliers, and other associates to improve equipment reliability. (15%)Utilize the Company's Maintenance Management System and supports its use as a key management information tool. (5%)Provide direction and training for less skilled maintenance personnel and machine operators. (5%)Will be required to work with and develop equipment and ideas deemed to be confidential information and/or trade secrets owned by the company. This person will be required to protect the company's rights in and ownership of those trade secrets and confidential information.QUALIFICATIONS:Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.Must have 3-5 years similar experience.Mechanical and electrical aptitude, as demonstrated by aptitude and/or skills assessment, required.Must possess basic knowledge of electrical safety, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, ammonia refrigeration, compressors, boilers, and HVAC systems.Previous experience with refrigeration, boiler room operation, and air compressors is preferred.Must pass a pulmonary fitness test, maintain HAZMAT certification, and be SCBA qualified.Must be a team player, self-motivated, and willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.Must possess manual dexterity, good communication skills, and the ability to read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide.Must be able to follow instructions and demonstrate dependable attendance.Must have a valid driver's license.If the right individual demonstrates the aptitude and drive to succeed in this position, training would be provided with required dates to meet the training needed.Burke Corporation is a leader in the production of pizza toppings and other fully cooked meats.
