We are excited to add a new team member to our Control Engineering team. This team works with software, circuit design, and control systems. We work in a team of about 25 engineers in a company of about 150 employees, and the people we are seeking for this position are those that are interested in designing software and electronics hardware for custom robotics automation. About ALMACO: ALMACO creates custom equipment for the seed research industry. This includes planters, threshers, harvesters and seed processing equipment intended for researching new types of seeds. We design and build all of these machines onsite in Nevada, Iowa. We are not corporate, but weire not too small either. In fact, we are the world leader in our industry. What you'd do in this job:Collaborate with the Controls Engineering team to develop multi-axis motion control systems for our products.Design, program, test and debug software that controls our hardware.Perform tests on new and prototype equipment.Create documentation (diagrams, designs, or assemblies) for new and existing products.Work with Electronics Assemblers to improve and clarify documentation and processes.Why this job might be a great fit for you:You're the kind of person who likes to test out your design or programming right away and spend time away from your desk, testing and trouble-shootingYou're the kind of person who likes to work on a team on projects and improve your designs with collaborationYou've got some experience but want to build on that to move forward in your career. Minimum Qualifications:A High School Diploma or Degree.Previous experience with designing and documenting electrical systems and electronics.Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills.A healthy interest in electronics and integration.Great candidates will also have: An Associate's degree or other related education in Electrical Engineering, Programming, or Software Design.Experience with any of the following: wiring harness design, user interface design, circuit design, embedded systems and debugging, PID control, PLCs, sensor selection, CAN BUS and J1939, motion controllers, motor and sensor selection, or serial communication.Experience with Plus+1 Guide and service tool is a plus.Troubleshooting with a multimeter or oscilloscope. National Career Readiness Certificate is welcome.
