Trinity Health Department Support Assistant Operating Room in NEWTON, Iowa

Description:

The Operating Room Dept. Support Assistant works with the Surgical Services staff, physicians, and ancillary departments to coordinate the daily activities of the department. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, providing appropriate information to callers and assisting with clerical work, minor administrative and business details with minimal managerial oversight. Assigned tasks require independent judgment, initiative and organization.

EDUCATION: High School graduate that possesses computer and typing skills.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years work experience in health care facility. Prior secretarial/clerical experience preferred

LICENSURE: None required. BLS certification required at healthcare provider level.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Operates a computer efficiently

· Excellent phone etiquette and outstanding communication skills

· Able to multi-task

· Remains composed in a busy, stressful environment

· Organized and is able to perform details with accuracy

· Able to establish work priorities

· Team Player
