We are a place where innovative, driven, and diverse people are recognized and rewarded for their performance and dedication. We are hiring a highly motivated Engineering Manager to join our team. This position will lead our Production and Custom Engineering Teams, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement resources. The successful candidate must be hands-on and work to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and costs within the TruStile manufacturing facility. This position drives initiatives for continuous improvement and implements lean manufacturing methodologies, enhancing the overall performance of the facility.

Highlights of the role:

  • Drive the development and adoption of engineering best practices related to Continuous Improvement, Product Development, Design for Manufacturing, Equipment Automation and Production Support.

  • Partner with Operations to create a culture of Continuous Improvement related to Safety, Quality, Productivity and Delivery.

  • Drive collaboration between Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other technical services.

  • Collect, utilize, and develop shop metrics to identify waste reduction opportunities.

  • Plan, coordinate, and organize resources to drive process improvements within the plant.

  • Implement Improvement projects with the use of Lean and other Continuous Improvement tools.

  • Develop ROI justification for Improvement and Capital Projects.

  • Demonstrate the ability to present ideas and plans to all levels within the organization.

  • Display a proven approach to coaching and mentoring plant leadership as well as shop floor team members.

  • Foster an environment where open and honest communication is necessary to drive waste out of our processes.

  • Effectively deal with difficult issues as they arise.

  • Effectively challenge current state to drive towards improved processes and results.

  • Demonstrate a strong floor presence built with a hands-on approach to problem identification and problem-solving resolution.

  • Perform as a project manager with proven on-time project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

  • 5 years’ experience as a practicing Engineer in a manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading and implementing continuous improvement projects in a lean manufacturing organization.

  • Previous people management experience

  • Extensive knowledge in Lean tools such as Standard Work, Kaizen, 5-S, A-3 problem solving formats, TPM, pull production systems and other statistical tools as needed.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, proven organizational skills, ability to work in a team and as an individual, possess strong problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail are a must.

  • Proven track record of developing the technical and personal skills of staff members.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification is preferred.

  • Be able to multi-task and successfully manage multiple projects at the same time.

  • Effectively escalate and work through project constraints and changes to timelines.

  • Have strong computer and data population skills.

Physical requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is indoors in a typical office setting. The noise level in the work (factory) environment is usually moderate.
