Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality by performing analysis according to the MFI Internal Control Plan. You will review quality data and ensure all food safety control points (CP) and critical control points (CCP) are monitored and reviewed for compliance. Any out-of-specification CP/CCP will be addressed, and deviations reported to the lead, supervisors, or operators for correction. You will also be responsible for the verification and calibration of equipment, performing quality assurance SAP functions, and conducting laboratory duties related to analysis, sampling, pre-operation, and post-operation. Additionally, you will monitor and review net weights on all products produced, evaluate physical attributes (code, shape of product, bake-out, sanitizer concentration check), and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for any food safety/quality deviations and/or failures. Compliance with USDA, FSIS, FDA, CN, Customer, and Company guidelines is essential.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Norwalk, Iowa.

Work Environment

This is a food manufacturing environment where you will spend most of your time on the production floor. The environment is very loud due to machinery and includes a variety of temperatures ranging from hot to cold. You must be comfortable eating/touching eggs. Safety is paramount, and you will be required to comply with all safety work rules and wear PPE, including gloves, boot covers, long pants, lab coat, hair net, and ear plugs. You will report to the Quality Supervisor and the Food Safety and Quality Manager. Walking and standing most of the time is required.

There are two openings with the following schedules:

1st Opening: 4:00 am - 2:30 pm on a rotating 4-day schedule, including weekends, with 3 days off that rotate.

2nd Opening: 3:30 pm - 12:00 am Monday - Friday with weekend work as needed.
