Mitchell County Regional Health Center is in Osage, Iowa located in Mitchell County, which has a population of 10,600 people. MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.

About The Job

The Social Worker performs individual and family assessments on both an inpatient and outpatient basis and throughout the continuum of care. The Social Worker conducts individual, family and group counseling.

This position has the option to work in a remote setting or work onsite at our Osage clinic.

Salary: Starting at $75,000

NEW!!!! $5,000 sign on bonus with a 2-year commitment!

Hours: 40 Hours per week.

Open to part-time applicants as well.

What We Need from You

  • Education

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work from a CSWE training program.

  • Must complete Mandt training and maintain certification.

  • Must obtain and maintain certification in BLS.

  • Iowa State LISW, LMHC or CP-licensed in Iowa is required.

  • Experience

  • Previous demonstrated competence in assessment and counseling.

  • Must be licensed as an Independent Social Worker in Iowa.

  • Must have demonstrated training or competence in working with patients of all age ranges and a wide range of pathologies.

  • Competence, demonstrated in training and experience, in specialized areas of behavioral health care, such as adolescent treatment, chronic mental illness, gender specific issues, borderline personality disorder, employee assistance, etc., is preferred.

  • Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes

  • Ability to consult effectively and maintain rapport with all levels of medical and health center staff.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize needs of adolescents and their families as well as of adult patients in the inpatient setting on weekend rotation. Ability to recognize need for support and secure needed assistance.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.

  • Displays competence with high level socialization skills and the ability to interact appropriately with staff and wide range of clientele under stressful conditions. Able to act as a model for stable lifestyle and personality. Must be free of psychological or substance abuse impairments that adversely affect job performance. Is willing to cooperate with formal, independent psychological evaluation if questions are raised in the above areas.
