QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred
Current Iowa Certificate with appropriate endorsement required
Successful teaching experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills

Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
Able to work independently and/or as a team to complete tasks and meet goals

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in administering required language proficiency and academic achievement tests for determining placement for students in grades PreK and up, along with ongoing monitoring of student progress.
Provide and collaborate with classroom teachers to effective, developmentally appropriate and differentiated language instruction for diverse learners.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including whoe group (co-teaching)/small-group or individual learning. Provide effective, developmentally appropriate and differentiated language instruction for diverse learners.
Plan, evaluate and revise curricula, course content, course materials and methods of instruction in line with the Iowa Core, and district curriculum.
Engage and communicate with parents and families in their student’s learning and acting as an ambassador for the school in the community.
Follow professional practives consisten with school policies in working with students, studnets’ records, parents and colleagues.
Participate in in-service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned.
Attend and participate in established traditional school-sponsored activities (i.e., back-to school night, open house, and other activities customarily attended by classroom teachers and/or faculty members), which may be outside of regular school hours.
Promote student engagement in order to inspire and encourage progress while supporting and strengthening the learning capabilities of each student.
Supervise students’ work, evaluate and grade student performance, assignments and progress in language acquisition.
Assist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Maintain accurate, complete and appropriate records and files.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Make provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when requested to do so under reasonable terms.
Provide adequate information, plans and material for substitute teachers.
Have reqular and reliable attendance.
Act as an advisor to student organizations.
Other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be determined in accordance with provisions of the Agreement between CCEA and CCSD.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Agreement between CCEA and CCSD.
