Clarke Community School District is looking for a middle school football coach for the 2024-2025 season.
REPORTS TO: Activities Director/Principal
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Iowa Coaching Authorization (required)
2. Previous Playing experience (preferred) 3. Sport specific knowledge (preferred)COORDINATES: Middle School Program with direction from Activities Director
POSITION GOAL: To develop and grow student athletes, athletically and personally
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for implementation of program in conjunction with Head Coach and/or Activities Director
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruct athletes regarding techniques, rules and safety practices of the sport
Develops and organizes practice program that align with Head Coach and/or Activities Director philosophy
Conduct practices according to agreed upon schedules
Supervise athletes from the scheduled beginning of the practice or game until the last athlete is picked up, knowing where all participants are at all times
Supervise athletes on bus trips to other schools
Promote the entire Clarke Community Schools Athletics program
Set an example of the highest ethical and moral conduct including respecting and supporting contest officials
Foster among the participants and spectators an appreciation of the values of athletics, an attitude of good sportsmanship, and a sense of pride in self, team, school, and community
Promote a healthy lifestyle to student athletes
Communicates with Activities Director and/or Building Prinipal regarding roster and eligibility questions
Communicates with Activities Director and/or Administrative Assistant to ensure that all athletes have completed and submitted all required documentation, including the concussion form, medical insurance coverage form and have undergone and passed any required medical examinations before the regular practice season begins
Communicates with parents in regard to team rules, team schedule and athletic department guidelines
Work with Activities Director to ensure accurate inventory of equipment and uniforms
Adhere to all safety laws and district policies
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Activities Director
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and contract length to be determined in accordance with provisions of the Agreement between CCEA and CCSD.
EVALUATION: To be done annually by the Activities Director and/or building principal with input of Head Coach
