SUPERVISES: Student(s)
POSITION GOAL: To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource material.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take directions from supervising teacher (Preschool) and building administrators.
Supervise students throughout the school day
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of students’ Individual Education Plans.
Follow behavior management plans, strategies and procedures for individual students
Assist in implementing consistent behavior management strategies and procedures.
Perform personal care duties for student(s) with disabilities as needed (including but not limited to: feeding, clothing, lavatory, toileting, diapering and wash up routines)
Operates and cares for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.
Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of the teacher.
Has a good working relationship with all other persons.
Completes all other tasks assigned by the supervising teacher.
Help in the classroom while the teacher is busy with another group of students.
Demonstrate effective communication skills with students, parents, staff and administration.
Attends to other such duties as may be assigned by the building principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year established by the Board of Education. Pay rate and other benefits as per the negotiated contract.
EVALUATION: Evaluation procedure shall follow board policy 411.7.
