Main St., Osceola, IA 50213, phone number +1 (515) 978-6269, is looking to fill fifteen (15) Woodworking Machine Operator positions from 10.01.2024 to 12.31.2024. This is for full-time, peak-load temporary employment. Duties include: Set up, tend, and operate woodworking machines or assist with tasks associated with woodworking machines. Sort, move, fasten, and position lumber. Examine finished workpieces for smoothness, shape, angle, depth-of-cut, or conformity to specifications and verify dimensions visually and using hands, rules, calipers, templates, or gauges. Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to correct problems and ensure conformance to specifications. Clean-up site. Special requirements include: Three (3) months of machine operating, or related experience required. Must be able to lift seventy-five (75) lbs. for 75 yards. Must pass employer-paid pre-employment, post-accident, and other random drug testing.

The pay rate is $22.03 per hour with overtime available at $33.05 per hour, based on the hourly rate. 40 hours per week from 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM- 12:00 PM Saturday. The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position. Daily travel to worksites in the area of intended employment is required. The requested temporary workers will be based at 1805 N. Main St., Osceola, IA 50213, and will service clients within the Southwest Iowa nonmetropolitan area BLS/MSA, including the counties of Adair, Adams, Audubon, Boone, Carroll, Cass, Clarke, Crawford, Decatur, Fremont, Greene, Lucas, Monona, Montgomery, Page, Ringgold, Shelby, Taylor, Union, Wayne. The employer provides transportation to and from all worksites.

Single workweek will be used in computing wages due. The pay period is weekly. The employer provides housing and utilities to the workers at a weekly payroll deduction of $80.00. The employer will make all deductions required by law. Workers may be held financially liable for any willful or negligent damage to company equipment, property, or provided housing. The offered housing is optional for workers. Transportation, including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging, to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed by a company check, separate from the payroll check, if the worker completes half of the employment period. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back to home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economically and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Reimbursement in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (but not included passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker). The employer will provide worker, at no charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job and on the job training in the proper use of tools and equipment. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
