Musco Lighting Technical Specialist - Evening (Noon-9pm) in Oskaloosa, Iowa


Musco Sports Lighting is currently seeking a Technical Specialist in Oskaloosa, IA. The individual selected for this position will provide in-depth technical support to our customers. This position will be a primary point of contact on issues related to the networking and communication features of our products. Previous experience performing troubleshooting and technical aptitude is a must for this position.

  • Hours: Noon-9 pm Monday-Friday

  • This position requires the ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which requires the ability to respond to customer issues outside of normal business hours.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide courteous and effective frontline telephone support services in response to technical problem solving and network and communication troubleshooting to customers, contractors, Musco technicians, and internal services team and escalated calls from Control-Link staff.

  • Identify and report new and ongoing product performance issues and develop processes to aid in upfront detection and troubleshooting of these issues and assist in creating manuals and training other team members on these methods

  • Work closely with the internal Musco team to maintain the highest quality of customer service

  • Effectively manage product performance-related issues from first contact through problem resolution

  • Effectively utilize Musco specific computer applications for accurate logging, tracking, and routing of call reports and service orders

  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with control systems, project management, and technical support is a plus

  • Must be knowledgeable on technical lingo associated with electronic systems and/or communications including one or more of the following – cellular, ethernet, fiber, and networking

  • Ability to obtain and maintain safety certifications is required, as certifications are needed

  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong internet and computer experience including Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Ability to work under deadlines and handle pressure while multi-tasking

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize issues/projects; strong organizational skills with attentiveness to detail

  • Basic knowledge of Musco systems, products, and services a plus. We will train qualified candidates on this aspect of the role.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
