Position Description: The Quality Technician is responsible for safely conducting physical and visual tests in a timely manner to insure that customer specifications are met, not only in the lab, but also on the production floor and the warehouses. This position is also responsible for recording, reporting and following-up on specified, Rigid Plastic Containers and label requirements. The Quality Technician works a 12 hour 2-2-3 rotating shift. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities: Observes all company safety policies and procedures as well as maintaining good housekeeping and GMP/Global Food Safety practices. Inspects completed finished units and bottles in process using statistical sampling techniques and following printed procedures to evaluate quality of products. Selects, according to sampling tables, percentage of production lot of containers. Examines containers to judge quality of appearance, packaging, and decoration. Measures dimensions and performance criteria with customer or company supplied specifications using measuring instruments. Rejects or accepts production according to quality of samples inspected. Communicates with production associates regarding non-conforming product in order for timely corrections to be made. Has the authority to place product on hold and shut machines down. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must have a High School Diploma or GED. At least 1 or more years of experience in Quality role and in a production facility (preferred). Ability to walk and stand on concrete production floor during 12-hour shifts. Strong math skills as verifiable by testing and/or other approved methods related to the job duties. Ability to communicate effectively with others and work well in a team environment. Basic Computer skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
