Job Title: Continuous Improvement Specialist Division: Precision Pulley & Idler (PPI)

FLSA: Non-Exempt Grade: 3

Job Status: Full Time Travel Required: 15-20%

Revision Date: October 8, 2024 Reports To: Business Transformation Manager

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Continuous Improvement Specialist helps drive change and improve processes across the organization. They focus on identifying ways to improve operations to boost performance, quality, and customer satisfaction. The specialist works with teams to find areas for improvement, manages projects effectively, and ensures everything stays on track. They also guide others through change management, provide coaching and in person training, and monitor the progress of key initiatives to meet goals efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

More specifically, the employee owner will:

  • Organize and facilitate workshops to implement project management and continuous improvement methods, aiming to help the team grow, eliminate waste, and enhance efficiencies.

  • Deliver training sessions to improve team members' skills in project management and continuous improvement techniques.

  • Promote continuous improvement principles and celebrate team achievements to cultivate a culture of improvement.

  • Assist in evaluating current processes to identify inefficiencies and partner with the team to implement enhancements that align with organizational goals.

  • Monitor and track the performance of projects and improvement initiatives and collaborate with the team to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Help document processes and key learnings to promote organizational learning and ensure knowledge is effectively shared among team members.

  • Engage with key stakeholders to assess their needs and provide necessary support throughout improvement projects.

  • Support the development of a structured change management approach and collaborate with the team to prepare employees for adopting new processes.

  • Assist in creating clear communication plans for change initiatives to ensure all team members are well-informed and engaged throughout the process.

  • Document processes, project plans, and outcomes to ensure transparency and facilitate knowledge sharing across the organization.

  • Work with the team to implement comprehensive documentation practices, including standard work documentation, to enhance organizational learning and ensure effective knowledge transfer across teams.

  • Collaborate with the team to design and implement solutions that improve operational efficiency based on identified opportunities for enhancement.

  • Gather and analyze data to support process enhancements and assess performance metrics effectively.

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular progress reports to leadership to ensure transparency and alignment with goals.

  • Apply Lean methods, including Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen, to enhance processes and minimize waste, collaborating with team members for effective implementation.

  • Perform extra assignments and related tasks as needed to support the team and organization.

  • Capable of leading teams and managing multiple business process initiatives simultaneously.

  • Proven track record of overseeing projects, delivering results on time, within scope, and on budget.

  • Utilize analytical skills to optimize business process decisions.

  • Skilled in leveraging software tools to drive business process transformation initiatives effectively, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Zoom, and other relevant applications.

  • Capable of influencing and collaborating across all levels of the organization.

  • Inspire and motivate teams during periods of business process change.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.

  • Maintain consistent and dependable attendance to ensure continuity in business process operations.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to challenges.

  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of experience in business process management, process improvement, or transformation roles.

  • Proven experience in leading business process improvement projects and managing project teams effectively.

TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES

  • Project Management, Change Management and Continuous Improvement certifications and training preferred

  • Driver License required

Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
