Are you the type of person who works well with a team and thrives in a challenging but rewarding environment? In this role you will apply your skills in designing, developing, and testing embedded software for Vermeer equipment. We’re looking for your developed skills and experience in C, C++, Qt, Matlab/Simulink, Plant Modeling, Simulation, Machine Controls, and/or virtual testing to assist us in continuing to make our products the best in the business.
What You’ll Do
Develop, integrate , t est, and d ebug moderately complex embedded software for Vermeer machine control systems and displays.
Advise test technicians, as well as production and service personnel in the testing, manufacture, and servicing of Vermeer equipment.
Utilize embedded software experience in providing technical support and mentoring to less-experienced team members and stakeholders.
Participate in the definition, analysis, and allocation of software requirements, along with developing machine-level testing approaches and procedures.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or other Engineering field with an emphasis on embedded software with two years direct and applicable work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Familiar with mechanical and/or hydraulic design concepts that impact embedded software design .
Efficiency in embedded software programming languages, such as C, C++ or Qt.
Practical knowledge in any of the following: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Continuos Improvement, Robotics, Machine Learning, DEVOPS (Continuous Integration/Deployment), Machine Automation.
Experience in designing control systems specifically for off-road vehicles, utilizing CAN (Controller Area Network) and J1939 protocols.
Proficiency in model-based design tools including, Matlab /Simulink and /or Danfoss Plus+1 Guide.
Demonstrated capability in design, test, and implementation of HMI (Human Machine Interface) and Virtual Instrument components and controls.
Ability to analyze, develop, and write specifications that align with stakeholder needs.
Experience with electronic circuits, microcontroller architectures, power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and principles of operation.
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
Travel
Occasional travel is expected of this position.
Work Location
HYBRID: Some of a team member’s day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager.
