The Senior Finance Manager - Product Operations FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) leads a team and is responsible for pulling together detailed cost information and summarizing it in a variety of ways to support the business through the lens of lean operations advancement to reduce and proactively manage costs and margin. This position leads the efforts to develop, analyze, and interpret the financial data for the company's total gross margins, inventory and inventory reserves. This role also provides budget, forecast and spend management support for the Procurement and Operations functions. This role leads the efforts to provide capital and expense reporting forecast and actual and act as a business partner to operations leadership, leading efforts in outsourcing, make-buy or investment decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Lead through the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused, and stewardship and model the associated behaviors. Manage assigned team members in performance of their duties. Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the organization’s business strategies and objectives and ensure department is properly serving its internal and external customers and meeting defined expectations.

  2. Develop, prepare, direct and implement procedures and methods for new product development product costs and pricing.

  3. Lead inventory valuation, obsolescence and analysis. Establish and maintain inventory performance metrics and cycle count accuracy.

  4. Responsible for budgeting and analysis of manufacturing operations expense and capital spending.

  5. Perform freight reporting and analysis.

  6. Provide ad-hoc financial analysis/business partnering with departments and teams within the global entity.

  7. Administer the price book and update process as well as associated analyses of price vs. cost analysis as a result of pricing changes.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in cost accounting; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment and metrics is preferred.

  • MBA a plus but not required.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively manage the product costing with the company.

  • Experience with lean manufacturing from a cost accounting perspective.

  • Knowledge of accounting systems, ERP systems, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting

  • Expert with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers.

  • Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness with customers and peers.

  • Ability to produce accurate, professional and error-free documents in a timely manner.

  • Demonstration of good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage time and resources.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while supporting the department.

  • Ability to handle confidential materials with company financial statements.

CMA preferred.
