1 - First Shift

The Talent Acquisition Specialist I is driven to identify, attract, select and hire top talent with a sense of urgency to meet current and future needs of Vermeer Corporation. In this role you will have end-to-end responsibility for the recruiting process including planning, interviewing and selection procedures and acting as an ambassador in recruitment events and activities. We are looking for a self-starter who works with agility and is willing and able to embrace shifting priorities with a great attitude.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Exhibit the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused and stewardship while modeling the associated behaviors.

    1. Execute continuous sourcing strategies to include online recruitment, networking, cold calling, career fair participation, college/university relationship building and other creative methods for attracting and maintaining candidates for current openings and pipeline development in assigned function.

    2. Build strong relationships with active and passive candidates within internal and external pipelines, functional areas and hiring managers to drive the recruitment process.

    3. Conduct comprehensive job profiling sessions with hiring managers to identify target skill sets and prepare participants for the interview and selection process. Conduct screenings, evaluations and assessments to ensure skill and culture fit of candidates. Facilitate selection process, extend offers and initiate onboarding process. Maintain outstanding candidate experience by setting clear expectations, providing frequent communication and timely feedback.

    4. Work collaboratively with other functional areas within Human Resources, business segments and regional/global entities to improve projects and processes.

    5. Ensure issues such as diversification, affirmative action plans, equal employment opportunities are considered and promoted within the recruitment process.

    6. Provide advice to safeguard the organization from any potential exposure to unfair or illegal/discriminatory hiring practices.

    7. Maintain knowledge of the current talent market and industry trends in assigned function.

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related area.

    • Some talent acquisition/recruiting experience preferred.

    • Experience with recruitment tools and technology, including applicant tracking systems preferred.

    Other Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge of state and federal hiring processes and laws, and general human resources functions.

    • Ability to manage a large and variable workload, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned work.

    • Effective time-management, organizational, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.

    • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively verbally and in writing.

    • Ability to effectively work with confidential information.

    • Ability to research and investigate best practices and sources to obtain candidates.

    • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registration

    Professional Recruiting Certification (PHR, CIR, etc.) preferred.

    Travel

Up to 10% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.
