ManpowerGroup Junior Engineer or Technical Writer in Pella, Iowa

Our client, an international manufacturing company, is seeking a Junior Engineer or Technical Writer to join their team. As a Technical Writer, you will be part of the Engineering Team supporting Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communications, and the ability to effectively convey technical information to customers and internal stakeholders which will align successfully in the organization. This is a contract to direct hire position and may require up to 5% domestic or international travel.

Job Title: Junior Engineer or Technical Writer

Location: Pella, IA or Greater Des Moines, IA

Pay Range: DOE plus OT and benefits

What’s the Job?

  • Creating technical documentation including manuals, bulletins, kits, etc. for manufactured products

  • Works with engineering counterparts to gather content and create documentation

  • Create documents in PDF, work with digital photography and also create illustrations using 2D and 3D software

  • Create operator and maintenance manuals from engineering and customer input and documentation

  • Create field kits

What’s Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and internship with experience with documentation and technical writing or a Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or similar field and 2+ years' experience in technical writing and graphic arts in manufacturing or equivalent education and experience

  • Experience with MS Office, Adobe Framemaker, Illustrator and Photoshop required; experience with a digital camera

  • Experience with CAD software and engineering/manufacturing documentation required
