Iowa Employer Waste Water Superintendent in RED OAK, Iowa
The City of Red Oak is accepting applications for the position of Waste Water Superintendent. This position coordinates and directs the work program for the City Waste Water Department and is specifically responsible for management of daily operations including both operations of the plant and maintenance of the collection system. This department is also responsible for maintenance of Red Oak's Levee system and maintaining compliance with Corps of Engineers regulations. Position is considered to be a "working department head" requiring both administrative skills and the ability to work "hands on" with department personnel when necessary. Responsible for compliance with and reporting to the Iowa DNR for the waste water system. Responsible for the preparation and administration of department budget. Individual must be available for extended or irregular working hours, including being called back to work while off-duty should issues arise at the waste water plant, or during heavy rain or high water flow events. Individual must possess strong oral and written communication skills, including computer literacy, and be able to get along well with other employees and the public. Applicant must have a Grade III waste water certification through the Iowa DNR or be able to acquire within 6 months of employment, and a minimum of 5 years administrative / supervisory experience. Applicant must possess a valid Iowa Driver's License and have or be able to obtain a valid CDL within six months of employment. Must also possess a High School Diploma or GED.
