WANTED: Teacher for Le Mars Early Head Start. 40 hours perweek, Monday through Friday (8 am i 4 pm). Eligible for benefits,including IPERS. One of the following is required: Associates Degree inEarly Childhood or Child Care Supervision and Management, BachelorisDegree in Education w/ Early Childhood Endorsement or ChildDevelopment Associate (CDA) credential for Infant and ToddlerCaregivers. Valid driveris license, insurance andreliable transportation required.Le Mars Early Head Start Teacher $11.60Department: Early Head StartReports to: EHS Team Leader/TeacherPrimary Work Location: Le MarsEligible for Benefits: YesWork Hours: 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.Hours are subject to change based on financial and program requirementsRequirements:i Any of the following:o Associates Degree in Early Childhood or Child Care Supervision and Managemento Bachelors Degree in Education w/Early Childhood Endorsemento Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Infant and Toddler Caregiversi Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, push and pull regularly.i Lift up to 15 pounds often; lift up to 30 pounds occasionally; lift over 30 pounds rarely.Qualifications:i Center based work experience with pre-school age or infant and toddler childrenpreferred.i Excellent oral and written communication skills.i Excellent organizational skills.Job Duties and Responsibilitiesi Be knowledgeable of Head Start/Early Head Start Service Plan, Procedures, PerformanceStandards and Iowa Licensing Regulations.i Must be able to relate to low resource preschool children, families and staff in a positivemanner.i Work cooperatively with Program Specialists to ensure that each Head Start/Early HeadStart child and family receive the full benefits of the program.i Maintain staff to child ratio and ensure childrenis safety at all times.i Maintain a healthy and safe learning environment for children and families.i Assume teaching responsibilities with Team Leader/Teacher.i Provide an educational indoor and outdoor learning environment by following the HighScope, PBIS and 2nd Step curriculum to ensure school readiness.i Collect anecdotal notes that are current, ongoing, factual, and objective on children andenter into the Teaching Strategies online GOLD.i Use ongoing assessment information to improve curriculum implementation andindividualize learning experiences.i Complete required home visits with all families.i Attend IEP/IFSP meetings.i Chaperone on the transportation bus as needed.i Effectively communicate with parents on an ongoing basis including face-face,newsletters, phone calls, etc. with documentation of all communication.i Affirm the parent role as the primary educator of their child.i Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.i Responsible for contributing to a positive and productive work environment.i Be responsible for the complete operation of the center in absence of TeamLeader/Teacher.i Help in meeting in-kind requirements by HS/EHS Standards.i Be willing and able to substitute in other HS/EHS classrooms/centers and on the bus asneeded.i Follow cleaning procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary classroom andoffice.i Attend at minimum 15 hours of trainings for professional development requirements.i Able to work flexible hours without direct supervisions, including some evenings.i Other duties as assigned.Other Conditions of Employment:i Submit to the Department of Human Services Criminal History and a Request for ChildAbuse Information Records Check prior to employment and every two (2) yearsthereafter.i Submit to FBI National Fingerprint Criminal History Check prior to hire and every four(4) years thereafter.i Submit to a Motor Vehicle Records check prior to employment and every two yearsthereafter.i Complete a DHS Physical Exam prior to employment.i Complete a Tuberculosi
