MITCHELL COUNTY REGIONAL HEALTH CT Clinic RN 0.9 Days in Saint Ansgar, Iowa

Shifts: Hours will be days Monday-Saturday at the St. Ansgar Clinic.

JOB SUMMARY

The Clinic Registered Nurse is responsible for managing nursing care essential to the assessment, promotion, maintenance, and restoration of patient's health and wellness within their scope of practice. The Clinic Registered Nurse will direct and support nursing/clinical personnel providing patient care within the facility as assigned by the Clinic Director or RN Supervisor. This includes the evaluation, revision, and implementation of clinical policies and procedures related to the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care; maintenance of clinical staff personnel and education records; in-services and performs Clinical Staff functions.

ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY A. Reports to: RN Supervisor B. Supervises: Clinic nurse, Medical Assistant C. Key Working Relationships: Providers, vendors, Senior Director of PHO Clinics, Clinic staff, and Other Department or representatives within MCRHC D. Primary Customer Groups: Patients and their families, which are served by PHO Clinics. E. Age/Population of Patients Served: All Ages

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS A. Maintains up-to-date knowledge in the area of nursing care as it relates to the ambulatory setting and age specific patient populations. B. Coordinates daily clinic operations as they pertain to patient care. Ensures patient care by meeting patient care needs and assisting with patient concerns. C. Assists with recruitment, interviewing, evaluation, training, and serves as preceptor/mentor of clinical personnel. D. Communicates and collaborates with staff/providers/RN Supervisor/Clinic Director regarding operational issues, patient care concerns, policy/procedure issues and staffing on an ongoing basis. E. Helps to establish, maintain, and complies with clinical policies and procedures as they relate to clinical operations, regulatory standards, third party payers, and professional organizations. F. May perform duties of Certified Medical Assistant when necessary G. Acts and communicates in a professional manner reflecting the mission, philosophy and values of Mitchell County Regional Health Center guiding behaviors. H. Assists in maintaining department budget by ordering of supplies. I. Participation in professional development activities and attends workshops/conferences pertaining to the ambulatory care patient. J. Supports LEAN concepts and supports continuous process improvements to ensure quality patient care and improve customer satisfaction. K. Provides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments. L. Communicates with and performs duties following Mitchell County Regional Health Center Guiding Behaviors. M. Supports and abides by all medical center, departmental, and safety policies and procedures. Proactively identifies safety concerns surrounding the work environment. N. Performs other responsibilities as requested by RN Supervisor and Clinic Director.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS A. Education: 1. Graduate of an accredited program in professional nursing. 2. Current R.N. licensure in the State of Iowa. 3. ACLS certification preferred, or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire 4. Must be enrolled in a Limited X-Ray Tech training within 6 months and obtain certification within 18 months. B. Experience: 1. Previous 2 years experience in a health care clinic setting is preferred. C. Special Skills and Aptitudes: a. Verbal and written communication skills. b. Demonstrates knowledge and support for the principles of customer relations in daily activities with others. c. Maintains certification in BLS/CPR. d. Completes Mandatory Reporting requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years. e. Develops compet ncy to provide care within the assigned unit to the population described in the scope of care. f. Must have basic computer skills.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS 1. This individual must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, must be able to push or pull up to 50 pounds of force and must be able to carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. 2. This individual must be able to stand and walk continuously. 3. This person must have good visual, auditory, and verbal activity. 4.
