Job Title: Operator

Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting in many areas, but primarily you will be operating the toting stations, filling super sacks with oatmeal and other grain ingredients to send to our customers for use in some of your favorite products. After filling the super sack and removing it from the tote station with a forklift, you will use our warehouse information system to enter the product into inventory and print labels to be applied for tracking purposes. When the sack has been labeled, tied shut, and stretch wrapped, you will then take it to our warehouse for temporary storage. While you are waiting for your next super sack to fill, you will be organizing supplies, checking magnets for foreign material, performing quality checks, and keeping your work area clean. Most sacks are stored in drive-through industrial racks, so forklift and drive-through rack experience is preferred. You will also periodically be loading bulk trailers of oatmeal and oat flour and helping mill operators as needed. You must have the ability to communicate and work as a team member and follow all safety policies and good manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate toting stations and fill super sacks with oatmeal and other grain ingredients.

• Remove filled super sacks from tote stations using a forklift.

• Enter product information into the warehouse information system and print labels.

• Label, tie shut, and stretch wrap super sacks for tracking purposes.

• Store super sacks in the warehouse for temporary storage.

• Organize supplies, check magnets for foreign material, perform quality checks, and maintain a clean work area.

• Load bulk trailers of oatmeal and oat flour as needed.

• Assist mill operators as needed.

• Communicate and work as a team member.

• Follow all safety policies and good manufacturing practices.

Essential Skills

• Forklift operation experience.

• Drive-through rack experience.

• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to work with a variety of different personalities.

• Basic math skills.

• Basic computer knowledge.

Work Environment

Exposure to a variety of small grains and grain dust. Work is performed outside the majority of the day depending on the position, with some tasks performed indoors. The role may involve working above ground level and at heights.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.20 - $22.80
