Description

We are on the hunt for an Accountant to be an integral part of our clients team, based in Sioux City, Iowa. In this role, you will be required to manage financial data, ensure accurate record-keeping, and provide financial information to the management. This role involves working with various accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and provide financial information to management by researching accounting data and preparing reports

• Ensure accurate general ledger coding of cash receipts by preparing and posting accounting entries

• Keep up with the fixed asset ledger and reconcile subsidiary ledgers

• Contribute towards the annual budget preparation

• Uphold accounting controls by suggesting and preparing policies and procedures

• Assist with the annual audit preparations

• Reconcile contributions between different departments and generated revenue from special events and activities

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and handle miscellaneous accounts receivable billing and payments

• Support grant programs and create necessary enrollment and state reports

• Serve as a backup for accounts payable functions and online registration for enrollment

• Maintain accounting records for athletics, activities, and parent groups

• Collaborate with the accounts payable, payroll, and administration assistant staff

• Take on special projects as needed and report financial actions to the Director of Finance

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Accountant or in a similar role

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Skilled in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Able to adapt to new tools and software quickly

• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Strong numerical skills and an analytical mindset

• Good organizational and time-management abilities

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• A degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred
