Splunk Junior Sales Engineer - Public Sector in Sioux City, Iowa

You must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle with our customer's technical staff. You must be able to identify all technical issues of your assigned accounts, that many of our customers encounter and help assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Splunk SEs must also be able to answer technical questions from customers regarding Splunk technology, features, solutions, applications as well as articulate Splunk technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.

Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!

  • Splunk Sales Engineers will learn Splunk technology, features, solutions and applications.

  • You will work with the Splunk Sales team to support Splunk product evaluations for customers.

  • You will help identify and resolve technical issues at customer accounts, and ensure overall customer satisfaction.

  • You will be actively participating in various aspects of the technical sales process at the direction of your manager and the sales team.

  • You will learn to become a Splunk advocate who can clearly articulate Splunk’s value to customers and partners.

  • You will answer technical questions from customers in an accurate and expedient manner, and help to escalate issues or questions that need further attention to your sales team and or Splunk technical support.

  • You will learn to demonstrate Splunk products and services to customers, and at field marketing events such as conferences and trade shows.

  • You might need to travel to visit customers (up to 50%), as well as engage in local onsite customer work at times. ( Must be available to travel to visit prospects and customers )

  • You need to be organized and analytical, and be creative and adaptive in your approach to problem solving.

  • You should possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate clearly and professionally.

Requirements: I’ve already done that!

  • Looking for recent college graduates on up to candidates with 1-2 years years of post college practical experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Optional but desired skills in any of the following areas:

  • Some Unix based scripting language (Perl, Python, *sh).

  • Experience with networking, server, application and web technologies.

  • Some database query language (SQL), report development.

  • Experience with Knowledge of Security Compliance products and services.

  • Experience with Knowledge of Application Management products and services.

  • Experience with Knowledge of IT operations management products and services.

  • Experience with Knowledge of networking, server, application and development technologies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Travel Requirements: Up to 50%

Education: Got it!

  • Bachelor of Science degree in EE, CE, Computer Science, MIS, or Business
