Sparklight Seasonal Field Tech - Drop Bury in Sioux City, Iowa

Sparklight, a member of the Cable One family of companies, is looking for committed, helpful, proactive associate who will create a positive, personal connection with our customers as a Seasonal Drop Bury Technician. This seasonal position is responsible for ensuring that cable service drops are buried as needed. In addition to completing the drop bury procedure, the Drop Bury Technician will also be responsible for properly reporting drops that require contractor labor assistance.

What will you be doing?

  • Retrieve work orders from various sources, route and perform work with minimal oversight.

  • Operate hand or power equipment and/or hand bury service drops as directed.

  • Utilize equipment and tools in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and local system policies.

  • Maintain company-owned equipment in accordance with local guidelines.

  • Meet trench depth and routing requirements as directed by local management.

  • Perform minor repairs to damaged yard irrigation systems and landscaping as needed.

  • Properly report cable service drops that require contractor labor assistance to local management.

  • Communicate with customers regarding the route, depth and time for work completion and address any concerns raised throughout the drop bury process.

  • Perform drop service cut-over if required and as directed by local management.

What you’ll need:

  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • At least 3 months of customer service or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be able to work in all seasons and regularly scheduled to work on weekends.
