LSI currently seeks a part-time Community Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention(CAPP) Educator to provide services in Clay, O'Brien, Emmet and Dickinson Counties.
Provide direct services to clients; teach classes regarding specific community programming and assist clients in accessing community resources. Build and maintain quality client relationships and utilizes role-modeling and teaching in service delivery. Will plan and participate in activities designed to reduce teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and other high risk behaviors. Develop and implement strategies to address nonsexual risk and protective factors for adolescent pregnancy. Participate in efforts to increase community access to family planning services. Engage the community in outreach activities and build community relations. Meet with assigned individuals and groups in person via traveling by car to their homes, schools, or other community settings. Work may occur during normal business hours, after hours, or on weekends.

Crises are handled in a manner which minimizes disruption and assures safety
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or other Human Services related field, such as: Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, and Human/Family Services. LSI also prefers one year of social work related experience or extensive training in children's mental health in lieu of the preferred experience. In addition, employees are required to complete twenty-four hours of training during their first year of employment and twelve hours each subsequent year.
This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
