Performs trial runs, experiments, chemical or mechanical tests, and data collection required for research, development, or quality control of processes or products.


  • Sets up, and conducts tests, analyses, and evaluations. Adjusts and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.

  • Records test results and observations on standardized forms; may prepare reports.

  • Assist in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting results.

  • Performs all laboratory activities in accordance with organization safety policy; maintains laboratory hygiene.

  • Works under direct supervision on duties and tasks that are varied but standardized and selects from a variety of established procedures.

  • Applies basic and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment, as appropriate to area of specialization.

  • Resolves routine questions and problems, referring the more complex issues to higher levels.


  • High school education or its equivalent.

  • Requires three (3) years prior related experience or formal training it area of specialization


  • Must be able to work with lab equipment to assure its proper application and operation.

  • Must be willing to learn new skills and gain knowledge as necessitated by project work.

  • Should be adept with computers, word processors, Excel, and Internet usage.
