Iowa Employer Cost Accounting Coordinator in TEMPLETON, Iowa
Summary/ObjectiveWe are looking for a highly skilled, detail-oriented Cost Accounting Coordinator who excels at multitasking. The Cost Accounting Coordinator will act as point of contact for vendors and internal departments. They will handle most accounts payable, process payroll journal entries, assist in specific month end tasks and assist in audits. This person should be analytical, collaborative, and trustworthy.To succeed as an Cost Accounting Coordinator, you should possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. This person should be ethical, thorough, and attentive with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Cost Accounting Coordinator Responsibilities:- Accounts Payable:- Using QuickBooks and Whiskey Systems to enter Raw Material vendor invoices daily.- Enter raw material invoices and containers received into both QuickBooks and Whiskey Systems.- Match accounts payable invoices to purchase orders and receipt notices. Note any variances to PO issued.- Maintain schedules that reflect the latest actual cost for raw materials.- Enter other vendor invoices daily.- Process vendor checks as requested and when approved.- Serving as a liaison between vendors.- Monitor past due statements and invoices from vendors.- Reconcile QuickBooks Raw Material Inventory balance sheet accounts to Whiskey SystemsAccounts Receivable:- Record Deposits in QuickBooks- Make Deposits as neededPayroll:- Making Payroll journal entries.- Work with CFO, Operations Manager and/or Bottling Manager to determine proper department allocations each week to accurately code payroll for costing purposes.-Act as a point of contact between internal departments (Visitor Center, Production and Bottling) and accounting.- Assist with month end.- Close out the visitor center and online sales.- Record sales from gift shop and online into QuickBooks- Record items given away (Charity, Employees and Promo)- Reconcile Inventory to QuickBooks- At least two times a year, assist gift store manager with inventory count.- Accrue hourly payroll- Download credit card transactions for cardholders.- Upload completed detail into QuickBooks- Reconcile and pay credit cards.- Assisting with audit preparation.- Working with CFO to compile, analyze, and report financial data as requested.Cost Accounting Coordinator Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.- Experience in cost accounting and bookkeeping required.- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, problem-solving,and math skills.- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.- Proficiency with computers, especially QuickBooks, strong typing skills.- High level of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency, especially when multitasking.
