Hours: Friday-Sunday, 6 am-6:30 pm

Jack Links is seeking an ASRS Attendant to add to our team at the distribution center in Underwood, IA. The ASRS Attendant plays a critical role within the Jack Links Distribution Center.

The Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) Attendant is responsible for the continuous and efficient operation of the ASRS in the distribution center. During storage, shipping and receiving intervals, this role will monitor, oversee, and supervise the accurate and effective flow of all pallet movement entering and exiting the warehouse.

The ASRS Attendant will also participate in inventory control and maintenance processes and interact, as needed, with all distribution center personnel and be proficient with all warehouse operating systems. This person will also perform other duties, as directed by management, as well as participate in various areas to ensure the overall effective function of the distribution center.

 

ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Follow all safety protocols and act in accordance with all pertinent rules, regulations, policies and best practices meeting the company’s standards of conduct. 

  • Train, familiarize yourself, and become a local expert on the Savanna Warehouse Management System (WMS) or Warehouse Control System (WCS).

  • Monitor normal ASRS efficiencies, keep the momentum moving forward, and take control to resolve any short comings. Assist with maintaining material flow both in and out of the ASRS which includes determining priorities with the product and the cranes.

  • Monitor cranes and conveyors. Resolve all crane faults and conveyor backups or jams as necessary and in a timely and efficient manner. Responsible for notifying the Supervisor in the event of inventory inaccuracies or crane operational issues. Ensure that all tasks are properly processed.

  • Function as a liaison between all departments, escalating errors and system outages while involving operations, automation provider, and any specialists when necessary. 

  • Oversee, assist, and support all loading/unloading or dock issues within the expansion during start up and in the foreseeable future.

  • Work with and assist the maintenance, inventory, and operations team.

  • Participate in continuous improvement teams regarding warehouse automation and the warehouse flow.

  • Follow the automated processes to support successful execution of warehousing procedures.

  • Seek out areas where process improvements need to occur and assist with implementing corrective actions. Be a self-starter and take a lead role in improving or enhancing processes or procedures in order to avoid issues. Demonstrating a sincere, positive attitude toward getting things done, and seeking out additional opportunities that may go beyond the scope of the formal job description.

  • Maintain a high focus on providing excellent customer service to our internal and external customers.

  • Focus on completing all work tasks in a timely manner while remaining responsive enough to react to competing demands and shifting priorities. Managing multiple responsibilities, being organized, keeping on top of important, time-sensitive tasks, and performing all work accurately with minimal supervision.

  • This is a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift dedicated position although flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends is required when necessary.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Required Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a distribution center with an emphasis on equipment operation, material handling, and shipping/receiving experience. Overall understanding of distribution center processes.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Basic mathematical skills

  • Inventory control experience

  • Systems experience: Knowledge and working experience with computer systems along with practical aptitude.  Portray a good technical understanding and have experience with basic to intermediate computer operations with the ability to perform more complex computer tasks.

  • Full Professional Proficiency: Proficient in written and oral presentation, in writing and presenting documents, and in explaining technical concepts tailored to the audience. 

  • High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems, conduct troubleshooting, and utilize corrective action planning. Must be able to analyze, prioritize, and be a self-starter.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail and quality of work required.

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills

  • Past technical training or take part in future technical training.

  • Past experience working in a fast paced environment with the ability to manage stressful situations while maintaining company guidelines

The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  The team member must have acceptable and / or correctable vision. 

Ability to work at elevated heights, climb racks, ladders and stairs repeatedly
