This individual will be responsible for working independently to quickly and accurately generate CMM programs and carry out inspection of incoming products.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesProgram coordinate measuring machine (CMM)Operate CMM to obtain desired measurementsInterpret prints containing GD&TInterpret measurement results from the CMM and communicate with Engineers and SuppliersLiaise with external vendors, contractors or suppliers to ensure that their products or services meet the organization's quality expectationsManage calibration of all engineering gages and instruments.Create and implement processes and procedures to document the prototyping process.Review prototypes and incoming materials against prints and processes deviations and corrective actions.Maintain prototype documentation.Perform part inspection and layout as required.Support failure investigations for product failures encountered during the New Product Development.Support Product Innovation Center Quality Management System procedures.Maintain update knowledge of the company products, policies, and procedures.Skills and CompetenciesAS or BS Technical degree with 2-5 years of experience in a quality position required.Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015/AITF 2016, GD&T and CMM MitutoyoAutomotive experience and knowledge of APQP highly preferred.In-depth understanding of GD&T application and interpretation.High degree of mechanical aptitudeSix Sigma experience preferredMust work well in cross-functional teams.Understanding of casted, machined, stamped and welded features preferred.Demonstrated problem solving abilityEducation and ExperienceAS or B.S. in Technical/Engineering or equivalent discipline, plus 2-5 years of experience in a quality position required, experience in automotive highly preferred. Subject matter expertise in CMM programing and operation. Preferable for prior experience programming and operation Mitutoyo equipment. Proficient in mechanical drawing interpretation containing GD&T dimensioning. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
