Scheduled hours: Monday-Thursday 9:45am-8:15pm

SUMMARY

The Imaging technologist shall produce clinical diagnostic x-ray images as prescribed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures accordingly, while following all standards and safety.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following)

  • Produce high quality x-ray and CT images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist.

  • Provide proper radiation protection measures.

  • Working with the EMR’s to generate and complete exam orders.

  • Perform, record, and analyze QC data in order to make judgments concerning the results and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision.

  • Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work area, and monitoring temperatures in accordance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of a JRCERT approved radiological training program or equivalent, required

  • Current registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required

  • R.T.

  • C.T., or willingness to obtain C.T. accreditation

  • Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice, required

  • BLS required, or obtain within 6 months of hire
