Job Description
The 1st Judicial District of the Iowa Judicial Branch has immediate openings for a Court Reporter:
Black Hawk County under Judge Jacobsen
Black Hawk County under Judge Wegman
Responsibilities:
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Captures court testimony and proceedings with stenography machine.
Reads back court testimony and proceedings upon request.
Prepares transcripts, performs general office work.
Marks and records exhibits during court proceedings.
Performs related work as determined by Judge, Chief Judge or designee.
Electronic document filing required in all counites within District 1.
May be required to work for any Judicial Officer in the 1st District per operational needs.
May require travel

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from high school (GED); graduation from a school of court reporting with courses including legal and medical terminology, English, typing and law.
Must be certified as a court reporter by the Iowa Board of Shorthand Reporters or become certified within one (1) year of hire.
