UnityPoint Health LPN-Occupational Health in Waterloo, Iowa

A L.P.N., under the direction of the registered nurse and/or medical director performs nursing duties in the Occupational Health Services department, assesses and implements nursing care at the L.P.N. skill level in collaboration with the medical plan of care and works with other nursing staff to maintain quality of care including a clean, safe environment for the treatment of patients in keeping with the philosophy of Allen Memorial Hospital. Maintains patient and client confidentiality.

Evaluates and gives appropriate care for acute injuries and follow-up care for patients and utilizes adequate documentation of findings. Implements physician plan of care of carrying appropriate interventions as prescribed within LPN skill level as well as coordinates referrals directed by provider. Performs immunizations/travel med, follow-up care and maintains patient records. Conducts the initial assessment, hearing and vision evaluations, drug and alcohol testing as is appropriate for pre-placement and /or periodic physicals including ability to perform various pre-employment testing based upon client's request. Demonstrates Allen CARE values in all actions and interactions. Assists front desk staff with office duties as directed by clinical supervisor, maintains equipment, orders supplies and medications as well as miscellaneous duties directed by clinical supervisor.

Required

Graduate of an accredited LPN program and maintains current license in State of Iowa.

1-3 years experience in a clinical setting.

NIOSH approved spirometry training Breath Alcohol Technician/Certification (BAT) Drug Testing Certification Certification in hearing conservation (CAHOC) BLS
