Job Description:

The Production Scheduler will work with the Production Manager, Material Replenishment Supervisor, and the sales team to convert sales orders to production schedules to meet customer demand on time, making sure manufacturing resources are used efficiently.

  • Convert the master schedule to a production schedule to meet customer demand and factory capacity utilization.

  • Define monthly assembly, machining, welding  and fabrication schedules and daily production sequence to meet on time delivery goals

  • Work with material replenishment supervisor to define material replenishment strategy to the different areas in the sequence to be used

  • Prepare, maintain, review, and modify schedules for operation that includes assembly, machining, and fabrication

  • Develop and track key on-time measures for machines, parts, and internal orders

  • Work with operations team to determine lead times for customer requests

  • Facilitate schedule reviews to determine materials and parts requirements to ensure material, manpower, and machine availability

  • Define and execute the Material Replenishment strategy to the point of use. Responsible for the Kitting Strategy and Kanban size definition to supply raw material to assembly for each sequence of the build

  • Provide feedback to engineering about bill of materials discrepancies and errors

  • Use the Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools to define process and procedures

  • Maintain all relevant information to the position in SAP, Lean DNA, Daily Management and Continuous Improvement Boards records

  • Work with purchasing, operations, logistics, sales and engineering to ensure the information, metrics, and status needed to support all sales and operations planning process meetings is provided on time and accurate

  • Provide feedback to improve the ERP and MRP systems to maximize visibility to shop floor operations, in order to maintain optimal inventory levels and accurate requirements to suppliers to deliver parts on time

  • Provide quick responses to production issues

  • Identify problems and help improve processes

  • Use software to generate reports and schedules

  • Ensure that company on time delivery metrics are meet

    Experience: 

  • Associate Degree in Management, Bachelor’s may be preferred

  • Experience in production

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks

  • Proficiency with computers

  • Ability to create and understand reports in order to make production decisions

  • A desire to promote the success of the organization and production staff

    Computer skills:

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access) with PowerBI preferred

  • SAP Experience preferred

  • Lean DNA experience preferred

  • Ability to use data to drive decisions
