EO Johnson Company Business Technologies Security Engineer II in Waterloo, Iowa

JOB SUMMARYThe Security Engineer II will perform a combination of security design and implementation work, as well as security testing and implementation of new products or enhancements. This position will also conduct client penetration and vulnerability testing and reporting. They will be responsible for the support of the production environment and ensuring that the appropriate security policies and practices are implemented and enforced. In addition, they will support the sales organization in all technical matters regarding pre-sales, sales calls, and post-sales. The Security Engineer II will be the main technical resource throughout the sales process and will answer and educate the customer on issues ranging from features, specifications and functionality to integration.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESDeploys, manages and maintains all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus softwareProvides security related reporting to management and clients as appropriateDesigns, implements, and reports on security system and end user activity auditsPerforms testing and implementation of security related products, practices and policiesDevelops, implemens, maintains, and oversees enforcement of policies, procedures and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practicesParticipates in the design and implementation of a security plan and a disaster recovery planRecommends, schedules (where appropriate), and apply fixes, security patches, disaster recovery procedures, and any other measures required in the event of a security breachKeeps current with emerging security alerts and issuesAssisst with monitoring the overall operation of company and client networks and participate in problem resolutionContacts hardware and software vendors to resolve technical problemsProvides end-user support and training for security related products, practices and policiesLiaise between sales, product management, engineering and other departmentsAids in the proposal process through documentation review and quote approvalSupports the overall qualification of prospects based upon their technology infrastructureEducates qualified prospects on how the EOJ solution is compatible with their IT environmentAssists with a needs analysis on the client's network and technology spendingManages and/or provides guidance to junior members of the teamMaintains a working knowledge of EOJ products and servicesProvides customers and Locknet sales staff with technical product advice and support during pre-sales discussions - onsite, remotely or at trade eventsProvides technical services to clients relating to use, operation, and management of technologyPerforms other duties as assignedMINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCECollege diploma or university degree in the field of information technologyA minimum of 4 years work experience with technologyA minimum of 2 years work experience with securityPREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCEBachelors degree in in the field of information technologyPreferred Certifications:CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)CEH (Certified Ethical hacker)Security +GIAC GSEC (Global Information Assurance Certification)SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONSBroad hands-on knowledge of firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practicesIn-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systemsWorking technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standardsStrong knowledge of TCP/IP and network administration/protocolsIntuition and keen instincts to pre-empt attacksHands-on experience with devices such as firewalls, switches, and routersKnowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to d
