Terms of Employment:

  • 225 day contract

Position Criteria:

  • Board-Certified Behavior Analyst Certification (BCBA) licensed by the Iowa Board of Behavioral Science,required
  • B-21 School Psychologist endorsementORB-21 School Social Worker (Master's degree in Social Work)

Performance Criteria:

  • Supports the development and implementation of programs and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for students with autism and other disabilities.
  • Works directly with students with intensive behavioral needs in a specialized setting.
  • Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments.
  • Writes reports and develops Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Develops data collection forms.
  • Trains program staff in implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans and recommended strategies and monitors implementation.
  • Analyze student achievement data to measure effectiveness of instructional models and strategies
  • Trains staff in the use of and models safety response strategies.
  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve.
  • Assists with development of materials for behavior support and skill training.
  • Participates in Individualized Education Plans (IEP) meetings as a team member to review progress, data, and develop IEP goals.
  • Works with others to solve problems in a positive and creative manner
  • Meet regularly with program teachers and support staff
  • Attend and participate in designated professional learning communities
  • Read current research articles and professional materials
  • Attend in and out of district conferences as assigned by supervisor
  • Medicaid documentation and approval for designated student(s), as needed, per state/federal requirements
  • Collaborates with teachers and administrators to plan educational services and support for students
  • Provides professional learning for program and district staff as applicable.
  • Advocates for the needs of children
  • Other duties as assigned
