About Us: Mid-Prairie Middle School, situated in the vibrant community of Kalona, Iowa, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Special Education Teacher with Strat II certification to join our team. Located just south of Iowa City, our school fosters a culture of innovative learning, continuous improvement, and growth for both students and staff.
Responsibilities:
Utilize Strat II certification to provide specialized instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth of each student.
Collaborate with a dedicated team of educators, including a full-time behavior interventionist and instructional coach, to create a supportive and engaging learning experience.
Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
Take advantage of the autonomy provided in instructional decision-making while contributing to the school's commitment to continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Hold a valid Strat II certification in special education.
Demonstrate a passion for working with diverse student populations and a commitment to their holistic development.
Exhibit effective communication and collaboration skills.
