The director will provide leadership, direction and management oversight for continuous improvement of the standard EVS operating model within the facility. Leads all operational coordination for environmental services for multiple sites. Provides staff leadership, makes sound business decisions in support of the hospital's mission; and supports the hospital's vision to be a leader in providing the best facility for patient care, safety, service and value. Manages the day to day operations of the department; ensures a consistently high level of cleanliness and appearance to patients, visitors and staff.
Job Description:
Conduct and administer fiscal operations, including accounting, planning budgets, authorizing expenditures, establishing rates for services, and coordinating financial reporting.
Develop and maintain computerized record management systems to store and process data such as personnel activities and information, and to produce reports.
Direct or conduct recruitment, hiring and training of personnel.
Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of technical, clerical, service, maintenance, and/or other personnel.
Establish objectives and evaluate operational criteria for units they manage.
Establish work schedules and assignments for staff, according to workload, space and equipment availability.
Inspect environment of all responsible areas to ensure compliance to safety, cleanliness, and processes are in compliance with regulatory bodies such as CIHQ and OSHA.
Conduct regular rounding and auditing of cleanable areas to produce data of strengths and opportunities using this data to hold staff accountable.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED:
5 years in Environmental Services and /or other hospital related departments
PREFERRED:
Vocational school or some college in a related field of the following, hospitality, healthcare, business, or Bachelors Degree.
7 years in Director or Manager level experience particularly for management of staff
