Great River Health Systems Registration Clerk | 40 hours per week | Care Continuum in West Burlington, Iowa

Minimum Hiring Wage:

From $18.89 per hour

Job Details:

Scheduled Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday

Job Description:

Performs a variety of clerical functions and tasks utilizing specific knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures related to department specific needs.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

Prefer computer classes/experience

Prefer previous experience in the medical field

Prefer Medical Terminology course or within one year of hire

Greet callers to ascertain purpose of call, and direct them to appropriate staff.

Effectively communicate patient and provider needs to interdisciplinary team.

Facilitate communication between hospital and clinics departments in collaboration with other staff.

Operate office equipment such as: fax, scanners, photocopier, computer system, and telephone system.

Perform various clerical and administrative functions to support the nurse and providers.

Schedule follow up appointments at time of discharge with primary care and specialty clinics.

Schedule outpatient testing appointments.

Transmit Medication reconciliation reports to primary pharmacy at discharge.

Coordinate establishing primary care for patients who do not have a provider.

Daily quality chart audit of newly admitted and discharged patients.

Communicate disposition plan to primary care team at time of discharge via secure messaging system.

Obtain medical records upon request from outside facilities.

Regular and reliable attendance.
