At DMU you will make a meaningful contribution to the dynamic future of Medicine and Health Sciences. DMU is seeking an Academic Assistant who will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative support for the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) courses, labs and Academic Clinical and Basic Science department faculty.
What you’ll do:
Coordinate academic and administrative daily activities, assisting faculty, staff and students, serving as a liaison for the department.
Prepare and maintain documents and correspondence for COM academic departments along with keeping organized records of all related departmental and administrative information.
Prepare, maintain and coordinate academic course and laboratory needs by maintaining and updating course and laboratory schedules, guest lecturer information, lecture material, lab handouts, lab materials/supplies, syllabi, documents, examinations, student grade reports, and budget information.
Hire teaching assistants by collecting and reviewing hiring packets for completeness of I-9 forms, edit and approve TA timecards on a bi-weekly basis, coordinate pre-lab meetings and materials, and track TA involvement as necessary.
Assist course directors and coordinate academic course activities such as assisting with lecture presentations, proctoring examinations, preparing, updating, and uploading course content to student course learning management website.
What we are looking for:
High school degree or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.
Two years of experience as an administrative assistant required.
