The Consumer Lending Shared Services team will lead all centralized business support for our Consumer Lending transformation efforts and will provide overall coordination and leadership for all cross-functional initiatives and enterprise-wide programs across Consumer Lending. They will help develop and lead common operating processes and coordination mechanisms that enhance overall efficiency, such as prioritization of Consumer Lending project work and common strategic principles.
Consumer Lending Front Line Conduct Team
The Consumer Lending Front Line Conduct Team reports to the Head of Consumer Lending Shared Services and is accountable for managing the Sales Practices Program and related governance as defined within the Sales Practices Risk Management & Oversight Methodology. The team is also accountable for managing other Conduct Risk policy and program adherence in addition to the Sales Practices Program including but not limited to Insider Threat, Ethics including Conflicts of Interest, Customer Harm & Impact, Root Cause and Complaints.
The Consumer Lending Front Line Conduct team has an exciting career opportunity for a Business Risk and Control Senior Officer. This role reports to the Head of Consumer Lending Conduct and is responsible for understanding the inherent and residual Conduct Risk generated by the business he or she is aligned to and partnering with the business for Conduct Risk: policy and program adherence, assessments, control design, monitoring, issue identification and identifying emerging risks in the course of its business activities. The incumbent will work closely with senior leaders across the business, enterprise partners and independent risk management.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Serve as primary Conduct Risk contact for the sub-Consumer Lending business areas assigned
Be identified as a credible partner and valued asset to the line of business as the subject matter expert on Conduct Risk
Strong analytical ability used to identify risks and confidently raise issues, escalate early and engage in constructive credible challenge and will do so independently when necessary.
Proven ability to proactively manage and resolve conflict and effectively defend decisions with objective rationale
Deep understanding of risk framework, corporate/business policies, and programs to translate into plans for the business, function and/or risk type.
Analyze and monitor conduct risk metrics for boundary triggers, concerning trends and anomalies, and potential issues. Ensure appropriate escalation for any metrics boundary triggers or issues identified.
Lead the development, facilitation and governance of the Consumer Lending Conduct and Sales Practices Risk Councils
Lead the development of ethics, insider threat, and sales practices-related policies, procedures, job aids, and control plans, especially as it relates to Consumer Lending
Lead the implementation and maintenance of business procedures, processes, and systems of internal controls for Insider Threat, Ethics and Sales Practices conduct management, executing to ensure adequacy and effectiveness across Consumer Lending or within a specific consumer lending sub-business
Lead the continued development and implementation of ethics and sales practices risk processes throughout Consumer Lending
Proactively Identify opportunities for process and risk mitigation enhancements to the conduct risk program
Provide risk management expertise and issue resolution guidance for programs, projects and initiatives of conduct risk across front line businesses to ensure timely resolution.
Coordinate communication protocols to foster information sharing and collaboration across the Consumer Lending Risk Program organization, with Conduct Management Office and other IRM and enterprise functions.
Identify training and other risk communication opportunities; design/coordinate the development of training materials, employee advisory resources, and participate/facilitate in the delivery of training.
Conduct new products and product change review for potential Conduct risk, including post implementation reviews, periodic reviews of products in the Consumer Lending portfolio, and product retirement requests.
Will participate in a variety of Consumer Lending Conduct Risk projects, initiatives, or other business administrative ad hoc assignments that require a high degree of partnership and coordination with a variety of diverse stakeholders.

Effectively maintain adherence to a change management discipline
Ethical integrity and demonstrated ability to assess and determine when to raise concerns and escalate and be trusted with highly confidential sensitive matters.
- 10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years must include direct experience in risk management

Experience in a broad range of conduct risk functions, roles and responsibilities.

Proficient experience with Insider Threat Programs, policies and best practices
Proficient experience with Sales Practices Risk programs, policies and best practices
Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and regulators, to include virtual, matrixed leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage and build relationships within the business and enterprise Risk function.
Proven leadership and project management skills to drive alignment across stakeholder groups to develop and deliver repeatable end to end risk management solutions and controls aligned with business/customer processes.
Demonstrated leadership ability that embodies the Wells Fargo Vision and Values and leadership competencies.
Proficient with risk and control identification and reporting.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with all levels of an organization.
Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
Demonstrated experience identifying control gaps and consulting with partners to design effective solutions
Demonstrated strong understanding and methodologies in completing extensive root cause analysis
Proven advanced problem solving, organizational and time management skills.
