Robert Half has partnered with a West Des Moines company to recruit a Collections Specialist for their growing team. This Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts, evaluating creditworthiness of potential customers, and maintaining records of credit and collections operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the organization’s credits and collections functions, ensuring adherence to company policies.

• Evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of potential customers based on credit reports, financial statements, and other available data.

• Establish credit limits and terms for new and existing customers.

• Ensure the timely collection of outstanding debts to improve overall cash flow.

• Prepare reports detailing the credit and debt situation of the business for management.

• Negotiate payment plans with clients who have delinquent accounts.

• Resolve billing disputes, and handle questions or complaints pertaining to billing.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of credit and collections activity.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a credit and collections role.

• Strong understanding of customer credit, collections operations, and cash management practices.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with finance software.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proven ability to create and maintain professional relationships with customers.
